The Bath Maine Trolley

runs six days a week starting at 9:45 AM June through Columbus Day. This tour shows you the city of ships and stops at many convenient locations throughout the city. Maine Maritime Museum, The Holiday Inn, The Bath Information Center and the New Hampton Inn on the waterfront on Commercial Street, to name just a few. The Fare for a One-Way Trolley ride is only $1.00 except for Advertised Specials. Annual Membership with unlimited riding privileges are available for $20.

Bath Iron Works Trolley Tour 

 

Watch ‘the best shipbuilders in the world’ first make modular ship units and then piece the units together to create 1,500 ton AEGIS Destroyers.  In 2009, the yard began construction on the first of the new Zumwalt (DDG-1000) class of Trolley Tour of Bath Iron Works Mainedestroyers.  There are usually several ships in various stages of the assembly and launching process.

Watch an introductory video that takes you behind the scenes to detail the building process and features the employees who take great pride in constructing the Navy’s most advanced warships. You will then board the trolley for a rolling tour through Bath, past the BIW yard where your guide will fill you in on some of the most interesting tidbits of history that occured in the yard and explain just what it is you are viewing, highlighting key elements that can be seen in the shipyard.

Get on board the “Discovery” trolley! Sit back, and enjoy a 90-minute fully narrated tour as our informative guides treat you to Portland’s diverse history and architecture. The childhood home of Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, The Victoria Mansion, and the bustling Old Port are just a few of the landmarks you’ll see as we travel from city streets to rocky coast. We’ll even stop for photos at Portland Head Light, Maine’s oldest lighthouse. So don’t forget your camera, and come see the best of Portland with us!
