Maine Mid Coast Beaches

Bailey Island:

Mackerel Cove is one of those places that post cards are made for. Working harbor, beach, field of grass, boats and docks.

Cedar Beach is a treasure of a beach, with its beautiful sand and great tidal pools filled with sea-life.

Land’s End Beach Has great walking paths and views in addition to a fantastic beach.


Thomas Point Beach (725-6009, 29 Meadow Rd., Brunswick) is a clean, sandy beach that offers picnicking, camping, a snack bar, playgrounds for the kids, and volleyball and softball areas.


Reid State Park bears the distinct honor as being Maine’s first State-owned Saltwater Beach. In 1946, prosperous businessman and Georgetown resident Walter E. Reid donated land to the State of Maine to be preserved forever.


Popham Beach is renowned for its wide, sandy beach, beautiful views and excellent swimming.  Kids will love exploring the ruins of the adjacent historic Fort Popham
