Five River Arts Alliance, Second Friday ArtWalk – July 8th – Make an evening of it!
The third self-guided ArtWalk of the season extends one mile from Maine Fiberarts in Topsham to Bowdoin College Museum of Art. More than two-dozen galleries, artist studios, restaurants and businesses are open for the evening. A number of new art, woodworking and design studios will be open in Fort Andross. Receptions will be held at Bayview Gallery, Summer Island Studio, Whatnot Gallery at Spindleworks, Points of View, Gallery Framing and The Brunswick Inn. Bowdoin College Museum of Art is open for the evening. Summer Island Studio features “New England Villages” by Jan Kilburn, a well-known watercolorist from Damariscotta. Bowdoin College Museum of Art Presents Edward Hopper’s Maine
Exhibit of Hopper’s artistic production in Maine opens July 15, showcasing nearly 90 rarely seen examples of the artist’s formative work. Accompanied by a fully illustrated catalogue. The Museum of Art is open Tuesday through Saturday, 10 a.m.-5 p.m., Thursday evenings until 8:30 p.m., Sundays 1-5 p.m.; closed Mondays and national holidays.

Maine Street construction at the Route One Bridge affecting the closure of the Southbound exit of Route 1, onto Maine Street towards Topsham, is scheduled to be completed by July 8th. The south exit ramp will open Friday July 1 for right turn only for up to three weeks while concrete hardens. At that point the left hand turn will be activated.
