a variety of Civil War related activities visible, accessible and open to

Downtown Traffic note:
The Town of Brunswick has heard from many of us about the traffic delays from Topsham into Brunswick due to the new traffic light at Route One and Maine Street.  DOT had a traffic engineer on site Wednesday and Thursday observing the traffic and signal timing.  They modified the timing of the light (on Thursday, July 28) based on this evaluation and expect this new timing to keep the traffic moving in all directions.

The third self-guided ArtWalk of the season extends one mile from Maine Fiberarts in Topsham to Bowdoin College Museum of Art. More than two-dozen galleries, artist studios, restaurants and businesses are open for the evening.  A number of new art, woodworking and design studios will be open in Fort Andross. Maine Street construction at the Route One Bridge affecting the closure of the Southbound exit of Route 1, onto Maine Street towards Topsham, is scheduled to be completed by July 8th.  The south exit ramp will open Friday July 1 for right turn only for up to three weeks while concrete hardens. At that point the left hand turn will be activated. Project completion approximately, July 21. http://www.brunswickme.org

Please find included an update on the Fireworks Over the Falls event and a few events for this weekend:

·Fireworks over The Falls – The plan initiated by some Downtown Brunswick businesses to create a July 2 celebration including fireworks has had to be postponed.  Stay tuned to your Brunswick Blast for future announcements on the rescheduling of this event!

·The Rumpus Room is celebrating its first year in business with a free party on Saturday, June 25, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.!  Cake and refreshments will be served.  FMI – http://www.rumpus-room.com

·Mid Coast Hunger Prevention Program Annual Garden Tour – Sunday, June 26th. Sunday 10:30-2:30pm – self-guided tour. Tickets $10 in advance or $12 at the door and can be purchased at Hannaford, MCCHP office, Skillins, Imperial Hosta, Dyers, and Gulf of Maine Books. Tour begins anytime between 10:30 and 2 pm at theGazebo on the Downtown Mall and ends at the MCCHP office for strawberry shortcake and tours of the garden/facilities.  Event hosted by Ron Carroll.  Rain date is July 10th. ·The Theater Project is proud to present “The Real McGonagall”, originally presented by the Portland Stage Company, at The Theater Project June 23 – 26.  “The Real McGonagall” performances times are Thursday, June 23 at 7:30pm, Friday, June 24, and Saturday, June 25, at 8:00 pm, and Sunday, June 26 at 5:00 pm.  All tickets are $18 and are available anytime on line, http://www.theaterproject.com or by calling the Theater Project box office at 729-8584.
